The show, titled CAC Dances!, will take place August 14, 2021 on the grounds of the Sherman’s in Caroga, NY and can be viewed live on their FaceBook and Youtube Channels. This project, funded by the New York State DanceForce, local private individuals and organizations, will build on the prior collaborations between Kyle Price, Caroga Arts Collective, and Nancy Long.

In 2019, Caroga Arts Collective first presented and evening of music and dance in the historic Landmark Glove Theater in Gloversville, NY. The second project was originally scheduled to take place in 2020. After a delay due to the pandemic, the re-imagined music and dance collaboration between Kyle Price and Nancy Long is now a film, which will be released June 2021. “A Love Letter to a Time and Place” (working film title). The film is being created in part commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the local landmark, Sherman’s Amusement Park, which is now permanent home of the Caroga Arts Collective.

The project for 2021, CAC Dances! will provide the music and dance collaborators an opportunity to express about how the arts impact our community and how the pandemic has demonstrated that artists’ voices can unite, nurture, and galvanize community spirit. The dance collaborators are to be determined. The Caroga Arts Collective has forged the path of diversity by bringing unprecedented numbers of artists of all ethnicities and genders to Fulton County and surrounding counties and has demonstrated the unifying power of the arts to help build new connections among the residents and visitors to the region. The Live component of the event will allow a small audience (size to be determined by Covid-19 restrictions) to hear and see the event while the Live Stream audience of 200+ will be able to enjoy the event in real time. The recording will also be part of an exhibit at Sherman’s, the home of the Caroga Arts Collective, and on their FaceBook and Youtube channels.

About the Caroga Arts Collective: Kyle Price’s energized and passionate chamber music experience was a catalyst for his vision to form an artist-led creative community, and resulted in his creating the Caroga Lake Music Festival in 2012 and Caroga Arts Collective (501-C-3) in 2016. In his role as Artistic and Executive Director, Kyle has grown the organization from a “homemade” music festival of eight musicians in his grandmother’s house, to an organization that hosts five programs over the course of a calendar year, that features 150+ artists, attracting 8,000+ individuals to the small Adirondack town of Caroga Lake, NY (population 518) annually and is widely regarded to be the pride and joy of the community and a model for artist-led festivals around the country.
