TOPAZ ARTS is pleased to present a new series Choreographers in the Studio featuring dance artists in a showing of new works. During the 2015-2016 Season, choreographers are invited to participate in a residency at Topaz Arts, each receiving 50 hours of free rehearsal space and a showing of new work during Spring 2016. The following is a schedule of showings and open rehearsals:

Sat, March 26, 2016 at 4pm: Gabriel Masson – dance artist, choreographer, performer, presents new solo material.

Tue, April 12, 2016 at 7pm: open rehearsal with John Jasperse Company – presents a work in progress “Remains” a new work by choreographer John Jasperse in collaboration with performers Maggie Cloud, Marc Crousillat, Burr Johnson, Heather Lang, Stuart Singer and Claire Westby and composer John King, Video Designer Jeff Larson, and Lighting Designer Lenore Doxsee. The work features six dancers, video projection and a score composed for electric guitar, viola and electronics.

Sat, May 7, 2016 at 2pm: a showing of new duet material by Tsai-Hsi Hung originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and Guanglei Hui from Guangzhou, China, who danced with Guangdong Modern Dance Company, and currently works with Shen Wei Dance Company.

Sat, May 7, 2016 at 4pm: Dylan Crossman – presents a new duet; former dancer for Merce Cunningham Dance Company and part of the company’s final tour, Dylan is a faculty member for the Cunningham Trust and a NYLA associate artist.
