The Capital Region Dance Season Calendar has become an institution in the four- to eight-county region of upstate New York.  It is the only place in the eastern upstate NY region that provides a full view of dance season of performances and dance festivals.  It is a tool that is used to unify presenters, sponsors, colleges that program dance.  The dance season is divided among ten presenters who serve constituents independently.  The Capital Dance Season Calendar is a project that brings local companies and touring companies together in a region wide marketing effort.  Data on events is provided by variable venues; visual images are provided to the designer, and distribution of the calendar is a region wide effort.  2,500 calendars are spread throughout the Capital Region using first class mail and tabling in libraries and lobbies.  Partnerships are nurtured by the project.  Administrative staff and presenters change over time, but each year the Capital Region Dance Season Calendar provides a group effort to engage all each year.
