The Caroga Lake Music Festival, a program of the Caroga Arts Collective has a 13 year tradition of providing Fulton County with innovative music, dance and arts presentations during the five-week summer festival. The stellar group of musicians lead by founder and cellist, Kyle Barrett Price, is known for their broad approach in their collaborations with composers and choreographers. The 2024 Collaboration between Caroga Arts Collective and guest choreographers Anthony Salatino and Lindsey LaFountain was presented in a unique setting for music and dance–the Carousel on the grounds of Sherman’s Amusement Park, a 100 year-old regional gem in the Southern Adirondacks. The full evening piece, The Music Box, took place in, on and around the Carousel as it moved at various speeds throughout. An ensemble of dancers wove amongst the audience and horses on the carousel while the musicians also performed in this unusual theater in the round.
