Audience: 275
Counties: Broome, Steuben

Four accomplished artists from Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana (2 dancers and 2 musicians) will provide 2 performances and 2 master classes, one each in Corning and Binghamton. The Corning component represents a re-engagement with 171 Cedar Arts Center as a partner. After a 4-year hiatus, 171 Cedar Arts, under the direction of a new Executive Director, is returning as an active venue partner. In Binghamton, we will be returning to Atomic Tom’s where in 2017, Flamenco Vivo performed a short program that was enthusiastically received. 100% of respondents to our 2017 audience survey at that event indicated they wanted more opportunities to enjoy flamenco. We plan to build on that initial exposure to flamenco in the spirit of “back by popular demand”. In both communities, there is very limited access to professional dance performance and there is NO access to Flamenco.

Sept 27, 2019: Binghamton University (one Master Class, time TBD), 171 Cedar Arts Center (one performance, 6pm).

Sept 28, 2019: 171 Cedar Arts Center (one Master class, time TBD), Atomic Tom’s (one performance, time tbd).

Populations served include dance-lovers, dance students, Binghamton University Theater Dept, Spanish language teachers and students, regional musicians (especially guitarists and singers), and Urban Arts Crawl audiences in Corning. We expect to reach between 275-300 people across the 4 events.
